promised land
FRIDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2024
“Promised Land is a very personal song to me. It was written as a prayer, illuminating the vulnerable journey of an artist. The song is about navigating through the emotional battle of fighting for your dreams. It shows the contrasting sentiments of loneliness and belief in oneself. The lyrics depict an intimate moment where I converse with God about the mental trials and tribulations one has to go through as a creative. When I was writing this, I was thinking of the sacrifices I needed to make to support my love for music. I pondered about being from a first generation immigrant family from Bosnia who have come from war and have had to sacrifice their dreams to survive in a new world. I thought about making the most of my life to fulfill my purpose and inspire others. I embraced the fact that I am a young woman taking a chance on herself in an industry run by men. Promised Land serves as an anthem to the artist who dares to show up for themselves and shine their light.”

lose you
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH, 2023
“At the time, I was fighting negative and limiting beliefs about myself. I didn’t realize how much it directly affected the romantic relationship I was in. I made this song while me and the person I was seeing were at a tipping point. I realized that the more care and love I showed myself, the more the partnership would naturally thrive.”
“The making of 'Lose You' was an act of processing, working through and releasing pent up fears that were not serving me anymore for the sake of a fresh start.”

better care
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH, 2024
“Better Care speaks to the beauty and importance of self-pleasure. So often, we’re focused on pleasing the other instead of ourselves. This song is an anthem for feeling free in your own sensuality and celebrating being intimate in the most authentic way.”

TRACK ④
too much
FRIDAY, APRIL 26TH, 2024
“Too Much has a very eerie, ominous sound to it. When I was writing it, I was reflecting on a partner from my past who I felt gaslighted by. He made me feel as if I had no choice but to stay with him which led to having feelings of guilt when expressing my honest opinion about the relationship to him. This song outlines the emotions of frustration, confusion and anger while reflecting on how trapped I felt. Further, I see it mirroring an act of confrontation because I am questioning his behavior throughout the verse and end the hook with “I’m so over it baby, cause it’s driving me crazy”. Sonically, it’s intended to trigger the mood of something feeling “wrong” to listeners. Despite the track being short, it symbolically illustrates how I felt rushed into the relationship and also how short it lasted as a consequence to that.”

TRACK ⑤
move on
FRIDAY, MAY 31ST, 2024
“Move On describes the hardship of finally deciding to leave a toxic relationship after realizing that it will never get better because of how one-sided it is. It begins as a calm statement of telling a partner that they no longer want to be with them. It gradually builds to a climax of anger, releasing honest emotions of how hard it’s been dealing with their betrayal and selfishness. The song focuses on the significance of prioritizing yourself over bending your back for someone who doesn’t really care about you. It is sonically very stripped to highlight the sensitive message and power of the vocals.”

TRACK ⑥
nothin
FRIDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2024
“Nothin is lighthearted song about telling someone you’re not that into them. When you’ve told someone that you don’t see a future with them but they continue to beg at your feet for it, it gets annoying. By saying “it’s nothin” continuously throughout the track, I’m making my point very loud and clear to the admirer in a bit of a mocking way that they have no chance with me. I speak to their ego about how they must be overly confident to think it’s that easy to win me over because other women have easily adored them in the past. It’s easy and fun rhythm speaks to not taking things too seriously while the lyrics make the point of remembering to keep your standards high.”

TRACK ⑦
sorry 4 u
FRIDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2024
“Sorry 4 U tells a story of letting go. It sheds light on the experience of growing up with an emotionally unavailable family member. 'Sorry 4 U' emphasizes the importance of healing, prioritizing mental health, and stepping away from relationships that do more harm than good. It explains that it’s okay to release attachment from someone who is heavily resistant to positive growth and change. The song is a message of support to anyone struggling to embrace their personal power.”
